Woman Declined Liver Transplant Because of Pornography
A 34 year old woman who chose not to reveal her identity was told by some medical practitioners that she was no longer capable for a surgical transplant because of the content abuse. This woman was diagnosed with a liver problem and removed from the list of transplant surgery because of her pornography used stated by Cedars Sinai Medical Center located in Los Angeles. Americans for Safe Porn Use, an active support group for patient’s right condemned the decision made and stating that declining the need of transplant surgery to pornography users is the biggest form of unfair treatment to human beings. They also said that Cedars-Sinai would never break any legal laws because it is not the right thing to do.
The owner of the medical institution did not make any comment on its decision following the conclusion made by the American Psychiatric Association. According to this association, its latest Statistical and Diagnostic Manual of Mental Problems aims to promote chronic pornography users to relate this issue to paraphilia classification and other personality or mood disorders related by the DSM which also includes the use of alcohol and drug abused.
Cedar Sinai still has not making any suggestions to the decision but one patient who is recently looking for medical center that will address her pornography use says that she has no idea why Cedar Sinai would declined her for a transplant just because she watch porn all the time. She’s hoping that they will listen to her needs and changed what they have decided in creating such policy. She also expressed that they should also consider other people who have the same case as her.
Her attorney stated that he will institute legal proceedings against the medical center. Since the American Psychiatric Association end up with disputable decision to acknowledge porn use as a mood and personality disorder, almost individuals from insurance companies had been breaking down their people for their addictions. Moreover, the incidence is happening all over the city not just in private sectors. Bloomberg, a city mayor in New York has started an all out war on porn, stating that any individuals working in the said city, who witnessed to be in the self-possession of more than 2 movies will automatically be terminated instantly.
